When I think of drag queens, I think BIG. Big hair, big eyelashes, little dresses and big heels for men. Drag Queen are men who like to dress like women, usually to have fun, becoming as feminine as possible.

But we're trying to figure out what drag queens are looking for. As a company dedicated to providing comfortable high heels to women around the world, we know the stress that can lead to the search for shoes.

Each person ends up designing their own methods to find high heels for men that work for them, and occasionally we can follow the advice of others. Drag queens are not an exception to that rule, so we decided to ask three of them.

What would you say is the most important thing for the shoes it shows?

During the long nights, you want the heels that hold you back. Paige, Gina and Gloria agree that strength and stability are the key. Paige Turner explains; "The height of the heel and the strength of the heel are important, in addition, the same applies to the search for a balance between a not too large and unsightly heel or a not very pointed heel," adds Gina Tonic; "I'm looking for heels that do not move or break! If I invest a lot of money in shoes, it's important that they last." So far, it seems that stability and style are the key to what queens look for in shoes. But what about comfort?

What queens look for drag on their shoes to feel comfortable.

Standard-sized heels for men are rarely an option for drag queens. For men with wider and larger feet, a stylus for women of size 4 is not practicable. 

However, Gloria Swansong has found the dream combo. "What makes a shoe comfortable? I think the arch support, a rather large toolbox, and I think leather is the only way to go ... Plastic shoes are bad!"

What is the ideal height of the heel?

It is known that drag queens have spread on super high platforms, being as extra as possible. But it is true? "It really depends on the person," says Gina. "Usually, I'm going to 5-6 (inches)." Gloria's personal taste is "At least 4 inches, with a thick heel", usually Paige opts for a slightly smaller heel "I like to use 3 to 3.5 inches, otherwise, you need an inner platform."

What problems do you find with the size? First, we mentioned the difficulties that queens face with standard-sized women's heels.

How is everything? "There are a lot of toilet sizes out there, sometimes I am a woman with a size 13 high heel, sometimes I have a 15," Gloria points out that, in fact, queens have relationship problems. 

"My left foot is bigger than a quarter, my favorite vintage shoes rarely come in larger sizes, which is a shame" For Gina, there is often a commitment to sizes.

"I'm 10.5 in men, which should translate to 12.5 for women, but that shoe size does not exist, I usually end up buying size 13, which is fine because your feet swell when you're in high heels for too long. 

"Usually, I'm a bit lazy at the beginning of the show, but they fit better in the middle and at the end of the show."

So this is what drag queens look for in shoes and, like drag queens, women struggle with the standard size everywhere.
